Summary

The Financial Coach’s primary responsibility is to provide holistic one-on-one Financial Coaching to participants, following the Capital Good Fund curriculum. The coach will successfully build and manage trusting relationships with individual participants, prepare and deliver workshops in various Financial Coaching topics and settings, and track and manage client payments. The Coaching curriculum covers goals, budgeting, credit building, banking, debt management, savings, and related areas such as health and wellness.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be included as assigned.

  • Provide one-on-one financial and health coaching remotely to participants, from inquiry to credit checks and relationship maintenance, such as check-ins and surveys; 
  • Ensure Google Work Calendar is up to date and accurate, with client appointments and tasks.
  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with participants
  • Develop actionable plans and provide resources to support the client in reaching their financial wellness goals
  • Deliver prepared financial knowledge workshops to groups of 5-500 either in-person or remotely, using a variety of tools such as PowerPoint, projectors, and Zoom
  • Assist the Director in developing relationships with community partners;
  • Collaborate with coworkers to maintain and strengthen coaching curriculum and program offerings;
  • Ensure data integrity by taking detailed notes and accurately entering all client data into our customer database. Periodically audit for accuracy to ensure Development has the data required to report to funders.
  • Enter large volumes of data into our database, ensuring accuracy
  • Maintain participant confidentiality by adhering to all security and communication standards when handling sensitive data or information.
  • Accommodate working late shifts based on client availability.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Possess strong time management and communication skills
  • Experience in Customer Service Management programs and familiarity with data input and processing
  • Attention to Detail: "Meticulous attention to detail ensures data integrity and consistency".
  • Data Management: "Skilled in managing and maintaining large volumes of data"
  • Strong time management skills
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting, both in-person and virtually, to groups of up to 500
  • Must be comfortable making cold calls as part of the outreach strategy
  • Be able to empathize with people of different backgrounds and abilities
  • Must have access to transportation and be willing to travel 

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Experience working in low-income/distressed communities
  • Experience developing community and business partner relationships
  • Experience in financial services, business, or economics
  • Experience in social work or the social service industry
  • Familiarity with managing coaching/client relationships
  • Experience in Salesforce, Google Suite, and Zoom
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish 

Training, and Compensation

The Financial Coach and Community Engagement Specialist will receive extensive training on all of Capital Good Fund products, processes, customer relationship management software, workflow expectations, and customer service best practices.

This is a full-time forty-hour-per-week position. The Financial Coach and Community Engagement Specialist will earn an annual salary of $55,125 commensurate with experience.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
